This post has good advice for public demonstrations and venting feelings of displeasure with this outrageous maneuver to make people pay with their lives for flawed foreign policy, pig headedness, stupidity, and corporate greed at the top.
But what can the individual do if this thing passes anyway?
Well, the individual has several choices when and if this thing becomes law:
1. Meekly submit and do what you are told, which violates your conscience and morality;
2. Refuse to cooperate entirely with the process, and allow yourself to be put into jail as a statement against this atrocity;
3. Seek conscienscious objector status [generally given primarily on religious grounds, which is the strongest defense, since the government cannot consititutionally make you do something against your religion, although this right has been eroded recetnly along with everything else;
4. Seek asylum in a country that will not just hand you over to the US for trial.
Let me deal with numbers 3 and 4 righ now, because you can't just do these on a moment's notice, and the more time you take to prepare the better.
In other words, if you want to use these two escape hatches, you had better start the process NOW, before this becomes law, because, once it becomes law, it will most likely be too late. One cannot suddenly claim, for instance, that they object on religious grounds the moment they walk into their draft board and have much of a prayer of it being accepted.
Also, if you chose to leave, you will need to have a passport, know where you are going, have some money saved up, and have some preliminary arrangements made already before you actually go, unless you want to sneak across the border illegally and live on the streets!
SO PREPARE NOW, YOUNG PEOPLE, BEFORE THEY COME TO GET YOU, OTHERWISE IT MIGHT BE TOO LATE!
For those seeking to flee the country, APPLY FOR YOUR US PASSPORT NOW, DON'T WAIT, OR IT MIGHT BE DENIED ONCE A DRAFT BILL IS PASSED JUST TO KEEP YOU FROM VOTING WITH YOUR FEET.
You need to research several countries. I am not sure if Canada will accept you with open arms this time, but a call to the Canadian embassy will let you know ehre they stand.
If Canada won't accept you, you may consider other options, including Costa Rica and Panama, which are offiically neutral countries and put their actions where their mouths are, and have no armies of their own.
If someone wants to come to Costa Rica, that is where we are located, and so you may contact us and we can give you some advice.
If you wish to apply on religious grounds, then you need to be part of a religious organization that has a history of this status. One such group of organizations [actually now dozens, since they have split up] are the Church of God groups that have come out of the Worldwide Church of God.
Restoration Ministries and the Restoration Church of God are offshoots of this organization, still holding to the basic doctrines of the original WCG. If you want to apply on religious grounds, it might be a good idea to become a member of this group or one of the other offshoots NOW [be careful, a few no longer believe in the CO status, but actually support this insanity in Iraq]. Being a member of such an organization a year or so BEFORE a draft becomes law will strengthen your case. The Quakers are another group with an established anti war history.
But, you must read and digest the doctine and rationale behind the stance, without notes, in front of a hostile draft board. So, if you are not a quick study, you had better begin to study the doctrines of your church NOW, as well as implement a few other suggestions, such as sending a letter to yourself about your beliefs, etc.

It shoots down the arguments of the religious rightists systematically and thorough, bringing up all of the Biblical arguments against your position that a draft board might dream up. As such, this booklet is useful for anyone from any faith wanting to take this position.

Targeting September would give us the summer to get
the plan in motion on a nationwide basis. It would

Libertarians React to News of Coming Draft
US Senator Chuck Hagel (R-Neb) reported today that
the deteriorating military situation in Iraq may
force the U.S. to reintroduce the military draft.
"Why shouldn't we ask all our citizens bear some
responsibility and pay some price?" Hagel said,
arguing that restoring compulsory military service
would "force our citizens to understand the
intensity and depth of the challeges we
face."
Libertarians from around Ohio reacted with shock,
disbelief, and resolve.
"We will not tolerate the use of force to obligate
our young people to fight in a
war they do not agree with," stated LPO Executive
Director, Robert Butler. "How a President like
George W. Bush can start a draft, when he himself
has a questionable military record is beyond
belief."
Jason Hallmark, Chair of The Libertarian Party of
Ohio has called for an emergency meeting to discuss
the party's options to fight the draft. "This just
proves the folly of the Bush administration's
actions. They made mistakes, and
now we'll be paying the price. We will organize an
effective resistance movement to this call for a
military draft."

Don't despair. God will work something out, believe me.
The Legacy Partners deal was supposed to be done too, and it feel through at the last moment.
I sent Legacy a very nasty letter telling them about Joe Jr.'s history of fraud and corruption, and that they would be held accountable along with him for any sweet heart deal they worked out with him, i.e., selling the campus publicly for a song while they put a truckload of money into his back pocket, er, offshore bank account.
After sending the letter, they suddenly pulled out.
Joey has a history of this type of steal, stealing church money on every transaction.
If I was in LA right now I would file some papers in court such that he would not be able to sell the properties for years and years. If anyone is available in California and better yet, LA to do this, please email me and I will explain what needs to be done.
What God's people don't understand is that this situaiton does not have to be permitted to continue. The legal strategy exists which would not only stop this fraud in progress, but could even reverse the Big Sandy sale, etc.
All it takes is to get the papers together and file them, and then watch the sparks fly. Through discovery it is even hoped that we can land Joey in the slammer where he belongs! Maybe there, he can be "transformed by the truth" of his heinous sins.
So if we have any takers, please email me off list. The papers can be filed in a way such that you have no personal responsibility or liability for this. You will be given the appropriate power of attorney to do this as the agent of the trust that really owns all of that property that he is fraudulently conveying.
By the way, if the property IS conveyed fraudulently, even if these people DO buy it, it can later be reversed and they will have to accept the loss and go after Joey in civil court to recover their money [this needs to be explained to the buyers, so if someone can supply me with their physical mailing addresses, I will dispatch a letter immediately by registered mail explaining this to them along with the thought that they may not wish to assist a criminal.]
It is not good to discuss this much more in public so that Joey's boys don't know what's coming.
If no one wants to help, I am fully prepared to do this from here if need be. By the way, I thought that Bernie Schnippert's little remark about "lightning striking" was very interesting.
He had better watch his mouth, because Joe Sr, the Great Apostate, said the exact same thing 40 weeks before his death.
So let me know. I will ruin this deal for them at the very least, but I believe it is time to take God's property back and quit fooling around before it all ends up in Joey's offshore bank account.

This is getting real serious folks, I hope you are all paying attention.
Also, it appears the Taliban is using this diversion in Iraq to attack and capture cities there, so the US may soon lose significantly in Afghanistan.
Further, reports indicate that the Iraqui's have threatened to burn Japanese hostages unless Japan leaves immediately.
And finally, Ukranian forces have been routed, and Ukraine will probably leave Bush's ridiculously named "coalition," which is nothing more than those countries Bush was able to bribe or bully into doing what he wanted.
Now, it is all falling apart, and the worst is most certainly yet to come.
When one demolishes a building, one sets explosives at key points and times the detonation just right. If it is done correctly, the building simply collapes in on itself, leaving nothing but rubble behind.
I believe the US is about to experience the same thing, just like the defunct Soviet Empire before it. It is going to be demolished from all sides in a short period of time with unbelievable events happening all together.
Don't blink to long, because if you do, you may miss the collapse of the empire. It is coming as surely as the sun rises every morning. If you could stop the sun from rising, you could save the Empire.

Report from Baghdad -- Opening the Gates of Hell
Baghdad, Iraq -- Before the Iraq war, at a meeting
of the Arab League, Secretary General Amr Moussa
famously said that a U.S. war on Iraq would "open
the gates of hell."
In Iraq, those gates are yawning wider than they
ever have before -- at least for the United
States.
"Sunni and Shi'a are now one hand, together against
the Americans," a man on the street in the mostly
Shi'a slum of Shuala on the west side of Baghdad
told me, as we conversed in the shadow of a
burnt-out American tank transporter. Those
sentiments were echoed at the local headquarters of
Moqtada al-Sadr's organization, which had one day
previously come under assault from U.S. forces.
And, indeed, everyone in the area agreed that when
those forces were driven from Shuala, it was done
by Sunni and Shi'a fighting together -- and by
unorganized local inhabitants, not al-Sadr's Mahdi
Army.
Whether or not the resistance here grows to a scale
that the United States cannot control -- and this
is more in the hands of Grand Ayatollah Ali
al-Sistani than of Paul Bremer or George Bush -- it
is already clear that the events of the last ten
days mark a critical turning point in the
occupation of Iraq.
We're being told a convenient and self-serving
story about those events. In that story, a few
barbaric "isolated extremists" from the "Saddamist
stronghold" of Falluja killed four contractors who
were guarding food convoys in an act of unprovoked
lawlessness. Moqtada al-Sadr is fighting the U.S.
forces right now because, in the words of George
Bush, he decided that "rather than allow democracy
to flourish, he's going to exercise force."
The truth is rather different. Falluja, although
heavily Sunni Arab, was hardly in Saddam's pocket.
Its imams got into trouble for refusing to obey
his orders to praise him personally during prayers.
Many inhabitants were Salafists (Wahhabism is a
subset of Salafism), a group singled out for
political persecution by Saddam.
In fact, during the war, Falluja was not a hotbed
of resistance. Its turn to resistance started on
April 28, when U.S. troops opened fire on a group
of 100 to 200 peaceful protesters, killing 15. They
claimed they were returning gunfire, but Human
Rights Watch investigated and found that the
bullet holes in the area were inconsistent with
that story -- and, furthermore, every Iraqi
witness maintained that the crowd was unarmed. Two
days later, another three protesters were killed.
These incidents caused many people in the area to
join the resistance, forming their own groups (see

Violence back and forth and frequent collective
punishment measures levied on the twon quickly
turned it into a place seething with anger against
the occupation -- to an even greater degree than
other places.
The most recent incident, in which four mercenaries
from Blackwater Security, a company formed by
ex-Navy Seals (Blackwater people are performing
many of the same functions as soldiers in Iraq and
do get involved in combat), did not arise in a
vacuum. In fact, just the week before, U.S.
Marines had mounted heavy raids on Fallujah,
killing at least seven civilians, including a
cameraman. Residents spoke of this as the reason
for the attack on the Blackwater people and the
gruesome spectacle that followed.
With the recent fighting in Falluja, cordoning off
the city, in which 12 Marines, two other soldiers,
and at least 66 Iraqis were killed, there is no
chance to get off this track in the foreseeable
future.
But, not satisfied with this massive problem with
the Sunni, the CPA chose the same time to pick a
fight with the Shi'a followers of Moqtada al-Sadr.
Whatever al-Sadr's views about democracy may be,
Bush's claim that he started this violence to
derail democracy is ridiculous. First of all, for
all of al-Sadr's firebrand rhetoric, he and his
followers had always stopped short of overt
violence against the occupying forces. Second, the
incident that precipitated this whole round of
violence was the closing of his newspaper,
al-Hawza, a blatantly undemocratic act. In fact,
the paper was not closed for directly advocating
violence, but simply for reporting one eyewitness
claim that a supposed car bombing that killed
numerous volunteers for the New Iraqi defense
forces was actually done by plane (and therefore
by the United States).
In general, there is no quicker way to get an Iraqi
to laugh than to talk about how the United States
is bringing freedom or democracy to the country.
It's standard when talking about the latest problem
the Americans cause, to say derisively, "This is
the freedom." When I asked Rasool Gurawi, a
spokesman at the al-Sadr office in Thawra, the slum
of two million that is perhaps al-Sadr's strongest
base of support, about Bush's claims, he said,
"This is democracy? Attacking peaceful
demonstrations? Killing people and destroying
buildings?"
As the occupation simultaneously loses control in
Basra, Najaf, Kerbala, Nasiriyah, Kufa, Kut,
Diwaniyah, and in Thawra, Shuala, and Kadhimiyah in
Baghdad, Bremer and Bush have backed off a little.
Instead of wanting al-Sadr for his political role,
they now say he is wanted in connection with the
murder of Shi'a cleric Abdul Majid al-Khoei last
April. And, indeed, one of the other precipitating
factors in the recent violence was the arrest of
Mustafa Yacoubi, a top Sadr aide, for the same
killing. They even say it has nothing to do with
them -- an Iraqi judge, acting independently,
issued the warrant.
This explanation isn't getting very far with anyone
here. It's already been revealed that the warrants
were written long ago and have been sitting unused
until the right time. In fact, claimed Gurawi, the
Iraqi Minister of Justice proclaimed publicly that
he had no information about Sadr's or Yacoubi's
involvement with al-Khoei and that they were not
wanted by the Iraqi government.
Whatever the case, the administration's
militaristic response and hollow rhetoric cut no
ice with any Iraqis here, and are certain simply to
exacerbate a situation that has already spun out
of control for the United States.
Although the situation with Fallujah seems to have
been mostly happenstance (of the kind that was
inevitable with the constant skirmishing), the
signs seem to indicate that the move against
al-Sadr's people was deliberately timed. If so, it
was presumably an attempt to squeeze him out of the
political sphere before the token "transfer of
sovereignty" on June 30.
It has backfired in the way that anyone who reads
the newspapers himself instead of having them
explained to him by aides could have predicted.
When three U.S. soldiers were killed in the
Kadhimiyah district of Baghdad yesterday, that was
a clear sign. Although al-Sadr supporters are
probably a majority in Thawra and a very sizeable
minority in Shuala, his influence had always been
negligible in Kadhimiyah.
Even though the violence that has broken out is
major news right now, in a sense it's not the real
story. The killing of over 100 people in the last
ten days is a tragedy, but so is everyday life
under the occupation.
The people in the Shi'a slums of Baghdad who are
now furiously resisting the Americans hate Saddam
with a passion to this day. They suffered under
his repression and they also suffered from neglect,
especially under the sanctions -- scarce resources
and repairs went to politically more favored
areas. They expected great improvements when the
United States took over.
Shaykh Sadun al-Shemary, a former member of the
Iraqi army who participated in the 1991 uprising
and now a spokesman for the al-Sadr organization in
Shuala, told me, "Things are exactly the same as
in Saddam's time -- maybe worse."
That is all you need to know about the occupation
of Iraq.

incident that precipitated this whole round of
violence was the closing of his newspaper,
al-Hawza, a blatantly undemocratic act. In fact,
the paper was not closed for directly advocating
violence, but simply for reporting one eyewitness
claim that a supposed car bombing that killed
numerous volunteers for the New Iraqi defense
forces was actually done by plane (and therefore
by the United States).
In general, there is no quicker way to get an Iraqi
to laugh than to talk about how the United States
is bringing freedom or democracy to the country.
It's standard when talking about the latest problem
the Americans cause, to say derisively, "This is
the freedom." When I asked Rasool Gurawi, a
spokesman at the al-Sadr office in Thawra, the slum
of two million that is perhaps al-Sadr's strongest
base of support, about Bush's claims, he said,
"This is democracy? Attacking peaceful
demonstrations? Killing people and destroying
buildings?"
As the occupation simultaneously loses control in
Basra, Najaf, Kerbala, Nasiriyah, Kufa, Kut,
Diwaniyah, and in Thawra, Shuala, and Kadhimiyah in
Baghdad, Bremer and Bush have backed off a little.
Instead of wanting al-Sadr for his political role,
they now say he is wanted in connection with the
murder of Shi'a cleric Abdul Majid al-Khoei last
April. And, indeed, one of the other precipitating
factors in the recent violence was the arrest of
Mustafa Yacoubi, a top Sadr aide, for the same
killing. They even say it has nothing to do with
them -- an Iraqi judge, acting independently,
issued the warrant.
This explanation isn't getting very far with anyone
here. It's already been revealed that the warrants
were written long ago and have been sitting unused
until the right time. In fact, claimed Gurawi, the
Iraqi Minister of Justice proclaimed publicly that
he had no information about Sadr's or Yacoubi's
involvement with al-Khoei and that they were not
wanted by the Iraqi government.
Whatever the case, the administration's
militaristic response and hollow rhetoric cut no
ice with any Iraqis here, and are certain simply to
exacerbate a situation that has already spun out
of control for the United States.
Although the situation with Fallujah seems to have
been mostly happenstance (of the kind that was
inevitable with the constant skirmishing), the
signs seem to indicate that the move against
al-Sadr's people was deliberately timed. If so, it
was presumably an attempt to squeeze him out of the
political sphere before the token "transfer of
sovereignty" on June 30.
It has backfired in the way that anyone who reads
the newspapers himself instead of having them
explained to him by aides could have predicted.
When three U.S. soldiers were killed in the
Kadhimiyah district of Baghdad yesterday, that was
a clear sign. Although al-Sadr supporters are
probably a majority in Thawra and a very sizeable
minority in Shuala, his influence had always been
negligible in Kadhimiyah.
Even though the violence that has broken out is
major news right now, in a sense it's not the real
story. The killing of over 100 people in the last
ten days is a tragedy, but so is everyday life
under the occupation.
The people in the Shi'a slums of Baghdad who are
now furiously resisting the Americans hate Saddam
with a passion to this day. They suffered under
his repression and they also suffered from neglect,
especially under the sanctions -- scarce resources
and repairs went to politically more favored
areas. They expected great improvements when the
United States took over.
Shaykh Sadun al-Shemary, a former member of the
Iraqi army who participated in the 1991 uprising
and now a spokesman for the al-Sadr organization in
Shuala, told me, "Things are exactly the same as
in Saddam's time -- maybe worse."
That is all you need to know about the occupation
of Iraq.

New Emphasis Tells of Serious Concerns of Asteroid
Impact
University of Arizona scientists are launching an
easy-to-use, web-based program that tells you how
the collision will affect your spot on the globe by
calculating several environmental consequences of
its impact.
Starting today, the program is online at
http://www.lpl.arizona.edu/impacteffects . To use
an old 60’s term to indicate a significant and
serious change of perception… “The Worm Has Turned
for you”!
You type in your distance from the predicted impact
site, the size and type of projectile (e.g. ice,
rock, or iron) and other information. Then the
Earth Impact Effects Program calculates impact
energies and crater size. It next summarizes
thermal radiation, seismic shaking, ejecta
deposition (where all that flying stuff will land),
and air-blast effects in language that
non-scientists understand.
For those who want to know how all these
calculations are made, the web page will include "a
description of our algorithm, with citations to the
scientific sources used," said Robert Marcus, a UA
undergraduate in the UA/NASA Space Grant Program.
He discussed the project recently at the 35th Lunar
and Planetary Science Conference meeting in
Houston, Texas.
Marcus developed the web site in collaboration with
planetary sciences Regents¹ Professor H. Jay Melosh
and research associate Gareth Collins of UA¹s Lunar
and Planetary Laboratory.
Melosh is a leading expert on impact cratering and
one of the first scientists reporters call when
rumors of big, Earth-smashing objects begin to
circulate.
Reporters and scientists both want to know the same
thing: how much damage a particular collision would
wrack on communities near the impact site.
The web site is valuable for scientists because
they don't have to spend time digging up the
equations and data needed to calculate the effects,
Melosh said. Similarly, it makes the information
available to reporters and other non-scientists who
don't know how to make the calculations.
"It seemed to us that this is something we could
automate, if we could find some very capable person
to help us construct the website," Melosh said.
That person turned out to be Marcus, who is
majoring in computer engineering and physics. He
applied to work on the project as a paid intern
through the UA/NASA Space Grant Program.
Marcus built the web-based program around four
environmental effects. In order of their
occurrence, they are:
1) Thermal radiation. An expanding fireball of
searing vapor occurs at impact. The program
calculates how this fireball will expand, when
maximum radiation will occur, and how much of the
fireball will be seen above the horizon.
The researchers based their radiation calculations
on information found in "The Effect of Nuclear
Weapons." This 1977 book, by the U.S. Defense
Department and U.S. Department of Energy, details
"considerable research into what different degrees
of thermal radiation from blasts will do,"
Melosh noted.
"We determine at a given distance what type of
damage the radiation causes,"
Marcus said. "We have descriptions like when grass
will ignite, when plywood or newspaper will ignite,
when humans will suffer 2nd or 3rd degree burns."
2) Seismic shaking. The impact generates seismic
waves that travel far from the impact site. The
program uses California earthquake data and
computes a Richter scale magnitude for the impact.
Accompanying text describes shaking intensity at
the specified distance from the impact site using a
modified Mercalli scale This is a set of 12
descriptions ranging from "general destruction" to
"only mildly felt."
Now suppose the dinosaurs had this program 65
million years ago. They could have used it to
determine the environmental consequences of the
15-kilometer-diameter asteroid that smashed into
Earth, forming the Chicxulub Crater.
The program would have told them to expect seismic
shaking of magnitude 10.2 on the Richter scale.
They also would have found (supposing that the
continents were lined up as they are now) that the
ground would be shaking so violently 1,000
kilometers (600 miles) away in Houston that
dinosaurs living there would have trouble walking,
or even standing up.
If the Chicxulub Crater-impact occurred today,
glass in Houston would break.
Masonry and plaster would crack. Trees and bushes
would shake, ponds would form waves and become
turbid with mud, sand and gravel banks would cave
in, and bells in Houston schools and churches would
ring from ground shaking.
3) Ejecta deposition. The team used a complicated
ballistics travel-time equation to calculate when
and where debris blown out of the impact crater
would rain back down on Earth. Then they used data
gathered from
experimental explosions and measurements of craters
on the moon to calculate how deep the ejecta
blanket would be at and beyond the impact-crater
rim.
They also determined how big the ejecta particles
would be at different distances from impact, based
on observations that Melosh and UA¹s Christian J.
Schaller published earlier when they analyzed
ejecta on Venus.
OK, back to the dinosaurs. Houston would have been
covered by an
80.8-centimeter- (32-inch-) thick blanket of
debris, with particles averaging 2.8 mm (about
1/8th inch) in size. They would have arrived 8
minutes and 15 seconds after impact (meaning they
got there at more than 4,000 mph).
4) Air blast. Impacts also produce a shock wave in
the atmosphere that, by definition, moves faster
than the speed of sound. The shock wave creates
intense air pressure and severe winds, but decays
to the speed of sound while it¹s still close to the
fireball, Melosh noted. "We translate that
decreasing pressure in terms of decibels ‹ from
ear-and-lung-rupturing sound, to being as loud as
heavy traffic, to being only as loud as a whisper."
The program calculates maximum pressures and wind
velocities based on test results from pre-1960s
nuclear blasts. Researchers at those blasts erected
brick structures at the Nevada Test Site to study
blast wave effects on buildings. The UA team used
that information to describe damage in terms of
buildings and bridges collapsing, cars bowled over
by wind, or forests being blown down.
Dinosaurs living in Houston would have heard the
Chicxulub impact as loud as heavy traffic and
basked in 30 mph winds.

Prepare to have dominion over the earth!
Just as God gave Adam and Eve dominion over all the
earth on the
sixth day of creation (Gen. 1:26-28), in like
manner God will give Jesus Christ and his Wife
(the resurrected saints, the church), world
dominion near the end of the Sixth Millennial Day
of human history (Dan. 7:13-14, 18, 27, Rev.
19:7-9, 20:4-6).
The church is BETROTHED to Christ now (II Cor.
11:2). The betrothal period gives TIME for a
husband and wife to grow together in unity, to
learn to function as a team. The couple is
already "bound" together in the legal
sense, just as Joseph and Mary (Matt. 1:18-19),
before they come together.
Our job right now is to learn to function as the
bride of Christ. We need to be "in
tune" with him, to obey him faithfully (Eph.
5:21-33).
We need to put our husband first (Matt.
6:33).
The betrothal period is analogous to Israel's
journey through the wilderness. God wants to
write his laws in our hearts, just as he wrote
them on two tables of stone at Mount Sinai (Ex. 20,
Heb. 8:10).
We must have no other Gods than the One True God
(Ex. 20:2-3). God is testing us during our
Christian lives to see if we will obey him
faithfully (Deut. 8:2-3).
Our reward is to be joint-heirs with Christ (Rom.
8:17), who has been given all power in heaven and
earth (Matt. 28:18), and who will rule the world
at his second coming (Rev. 11:15). God
intends to reward us greatly, after he has tested

Prepare to have dominion over the earth!
Just as God gave Adam and Eve dominion over all the
earth on the
sixth day of creation (Gen. 1:26-28), in like
manner God will give Jesus Christ and his Wife
(the resurrected saints, the church), world
dominion near the end of the Sixth Millennial Day
of human history (Dan. 7:13-14, 18, 27, Rev.
19:7-9, 20:4-6).
The church is BETROTHED to Christ now (II Cor.
11:2). The betrothal period gives TIME for a
husband and wife to grow together in unity, to
learn to function as a team. The couple is
already "bound" together in the legal
sense, just as Joseph and Mary (Matt. 1:18-19),
before they come together.
Our job right now is to learn to function as the
bride of Christ. We need to be "in
tune" with him, to obey him faithfully (Eph.
5:21-33).
We need to put our husband first (Matt.
6:33).
The betrothal period is analogous to Israel's
journey through the wilderness. God wants to
write his laws in our hearts, just as he wrote
them on two tables of stone at Mount Sinai (Ex. 20,
Heb. 8:10).
We must have no other Gods than the One True God
(Ex. 20:2-3). God is testing us during our
Christian lives to see if we will obey him
faithfully (Deut. 8:2-3).
Our reward is to be joint-heirs with Christ (Rom.
8:17), who has been given all power in heaven and
earth (Matt. 28:18), and who will rule the world
at his second coming (Rev. 11:15). God
intends to reward us greatly, after he has tested
us (Deut. 8:16).

A WCG minister recently sent me a box of old WCG
goodies, including some items I don't have. Amongst
them was a photocopy of handwritten notes by Mr
Raymond McNair from Ministerial conferences about
1970-72. Wish I had the time to scan the document
to PDF, but I don't think it will scan too well.
Nevertheless, here are some extracts from his notes
which may be of interest.

A. 1969 or January 1970:
HWA - "we need to pull together - to respect
each other ... we need to learn to go to each other
and talk things over. There is the ever-present
empire-building tendency among those in responsible
departments ... and are very ambitious".
"Mr. A said if there is anything, any
difficulty, talk it over - come out with it, don't
harbour it!"
B. 13 January 1970:
"just because one isn't in the ministry, it
doesn't mean they aren't very valuable"
C. 17 January 1972:
Mr. A said the ministers feel nervous when speaking
before him. But he said he does not sit there
judging, evaluating - unless there is something
outstanding(ly bad) ...
He said some felt he had wanted ministers only to
wear a white shirt on the Sabbath - if speaking,
but could wear a coloured shirt if not speaking.
He says he prefers to wear a white shirt on the
Sabbath, but does not feel it is mandatory. He
would wear a white shirt - if in the audience. But
said this was merely personal preference.
HWA: watch events and pray. Things to watch:
a. US of Europe
b. militant Catholic Church
c. watch US economic conditions
d. Jerusalem and Mid East
e. This Work
D. 17 January - Pastoral Instruction:
"Be a leader, not a driver."
HWA: A leader should be an example of serving,
love, dress - in everything. He should lead, not
drive.
Men's hair: Beatles started long-hair fad. Now many
business and
professional men wear long hair, but it is not too
long necessarily. If this hairstyle becomes so
common among conservative men, (60% or 70% do it),
he may follow it and encourage you to do so...
"However I am not quite ready to do that
yet." "I am not going to start it
yet". He hoped none of us would begin doing
this, but if we did, he didn't believe it was
wrong.
HWA: Ministers, inspire by your example. Lead,
don't drive. Some begin to be overlords - heavy
handed.
If I want someone to do something, I say
"Mell, would you do such and such ..." I
don't just order Mell (my driver) around".
"Would you mind doing ..." or "will
you do ..."
Be kind, learn gentleness and patience.
One man in a position of leadership, beat down and
discouraged all of those under him.
"Christ is love. Have an outgoing concern for
those under Him. Be warm, friendly, sincere.
Request.
Mr A said "I wish I could just quietly put
someone in his place". Said he was working to
overcome.
Be a servant. Christ was a servant. Don't over use
those under you (Min. Assistants) having them serve
his own personal needs or wants.
If some are overlords - we might just jerk them
right back here.
Ministers must avoid running others lives,
businesses for them. Don't make their decisions for
them. Merely give them God's basic instructions.
All ministers should sincerely avoid going
overboard in styles, dress lengths etc. Look to
headquarters as the example.
Mentioned one minister who differed on certain
points, but he had never taught these things to
others.
You are not at liberty to teach or preach contrary
doctrines. These must first be cleared through
headquarters.
ITim 3:1 Some may desire office of an overseer, but
most who want to be ordained should not be! - HWA
said.
Rod Meredith said - We have had tendency to have
the people serve us too much. Some have deacons,
deaconesses (or women members) serve them without
pay. Lawn-mowing, maid services, baby sitting etc.
Fix our cars, do our nanny act as nurse or sick
maid.
Some church members like to do these things in
order to "make points" so he can gain
favours with the ministers - perhaps be ordained
later.
Let us remember, we are there to serve them - not
primarily to have them serve us.
Some members give ministers food, presents,
discounts at their business store etc.
There are many of these people who later become
offended if they are not ordained - or if they are
corrected.
Mr A said that he could not think of one time when
he had deacons or members do these things. Mr A
said this way is not of God, but is the way of
Satan the Devil.
Mr A said he wanted the Supervisors to see some of
these "squirts" and teach them humility -
not to abuse these things.
Mr HWA said some of these people look upon
ordination more as a coronation.
A. Many ministers are not qualified to advise in
business matters. We can only advise on spiritual
principles.
Don't be afraid to say, "I just don't
know" or feel free to refer a member to
another knowledgable member for business advice.
We used to be a bit extreme on the thing of church
government - used to apply this too often in
interferring in church family's homes.
Avoid giving the impression of being against the
teenagers - not knowing the real facts of what is
going on. Teenagers do live in a different world.
B. Must know what you are talking about. We don't
want to encourage any "wild" music.
But it isn't always easy to know where to draw the
line on music ... Show them that some of the
Beatles music is ok. Don't just harangue against
teenage music.
C. If you [ministers] aren't warm aand friendly,
sincere etc - then why? Lack of prayer? Study? We
are entirely too rank-conscious. Many ministers
have a wrong fear ["perfect love caste out
fear"].
D. When Mr HWA said it was ok to have shorter
skirts lengths on the cheer girls - this was not
communicated to the churches.
E. Let us remember we are not policemen. Some try
to legislate rules to prevent sin ... we need to
avoid the two extremes of over- or
under-policing. Don't feel that you have to police
the Church's people's children ... we can make too
many rules that we restrict people and their
liberties.
F. Certain Spokesman CLub and other activities can
be integrated [racially]. God does not
discriminate. Blacks and Whites should not dance
together - since this is a semi-romantic,
semi-dating situation.
It is certainly ok for White and Black families to
fellowship. But if teenage children of the opposite
sex are involved, then we must be careful and not
have too much fellowshipping under these
circumstances.
Some Whites have had anti-Black ideas, prejudices
etc in the past. This must be rooted out of God's
Church.
Semi-romantic activities should not be indulged in
by Black and White.
In the Millennium God wll cause the Coloured
peoples to return to their heritage - in Africa.
Blacks in the US are guests here.
"This is modern Israel. We do not know any
Bible example where Blacks were put over Whites -
over Israel. Israel were to have a King of their
own people.
In the US Blacks are the best-off financially of
any Blacks in the world.
G. HWA: we are not dictators. Christ did speak
sharply at times, but only when he had. to.
Otherwise he handled everything lovingly and
kindly.
An ordination is not a coronation. We have to rule
- but wisely and in love.
Mr A admitted that he hasn't always corrected as he
should. Don't have people fearing you in the wrong
way - trembling before you.
H. Disfellowshipping is for the purpose of saving
others - and of eventually saving the erring
brother.
We don't have to "blow our tops" or make
asses of ourselves. We want to help.
Don't do this disfellowshipping in such a way to
make their name vile for the rest of their lives.
How to disfellowship? That depends. Sometimes, Mr A
admits the hasn't done these things as he would
like.
Try not to act under strong emotion - where you
might do something foolish or irrepairable.
Avoid slander, liable. or creating enemies unduly.
Consider the welfare of the whole Work.
I. We need to be open, frank and we need to work
harder at sincere cooperation among ourselves.
Don't crave status, position, honor - making points
with the boss to get ahead.
Learn to communicate - to have a continual give and
take of ideas, suggestions etc.
As the Work gets bigger, we can get more carnal if
we aren't careful.
Be willing to lay down your life for your friends.
J. Loyalty is a 2-way street. Learn to appreciate
and be loyal to those under you - especially in
hard times.
Rod Meredith: Some ministers get in a smart alec,
sassy, flippant attitude.

very fervent - but after Wesley died, this fervency
died out. This type of situation could be repeated
with us if we are not careful. ***********
False prophets will rise up from our midst and wil
come in from the outside. We need to be serious,
sober, grave - realize our serious

We want to please, honor God in dress, family, and
all we do. Don't resort to "little
tricks", machinations etc.
Have monthly prayer meetings with the ministers in
England so we can keep close to God.
Certainly pray before meals and pray every night as
a family.
K. Mr A said many in the room have had wrong
feelings toward others. Even Evangelists against
Evangelists.
Mr A said if we have anything against anyone - go
to them privately and in love.
Satan would like to divide us. Pull together. Talk
things over and work as a team.
L. We are going to plan "as if we had another

For the last couple of years I have said that the
illegal invasion of Iraq would end in a humiliating
defeat for Britain and the USA. As the
occupation of Iraq turns to custard, the defeat and

day.

7 U.S. Soldiers Die in Iraq as a Shiite Militia
Rises Up

AGHDAD, Iraq, April 4 - A coordinated Shiite
militia uprising against the American-led
occupation rippled across Iraq on Sunday, reaching
into Baghdad and the sprawling Shiite slum of Sadr
City on the capital's outskirts and roiling the
holy city of Najaf and at least two other cities in
southern Iraq.
Seven American soldiers were killed in Sadr City,
one of the worst single losses for the American
forces in any firefight since Baghdad was captured
a year ago.
An Iraqi health official in Najaf said 24 people
had been killed and about 200 wounded in clashes
that ensued when armed militiamen loyal to Moktada
al-Sadr, a 31-year-old firebrand Shiite cleric,
besieged a garrison commanded by Spanish troops on
the road leading into Najaf from neighboring Kufa.
An American military spokesman said one Salvadoran
soldier had been killed in Kufa and 13 soldiers
wounded, including an American. All the other
casualties were said to be Iraqis.
Within hours of a call by Mr. Sadr to his followers
to "terrorize your enemy," his
militiamen, said to number tens of thousands across
Iraq, emerged into the streets of Baghdad, Najaf,
Kufa and Amara, a city 250 miles south of Baghdad
where four Iraqis were reported killed in clashes
with British troops.
Forbidden to bear arms under a decree issued last
year by the American occupation authority, the Sadr
militiamen bristled with a wide array of weapons,
including rocket-propelled grenades that were fired
at American tanks in Sadr City.
Taking advantage of an American policy that has
largely kept American and other occupation troops
out of volatile Shiite population centers like Sadr
City, Najaf and Kufa, the militiamen succeeded in
taking control of checkpoints and police stations
in all three cities that had been staffed by the
new Iraqi-trained police and civil defense force.

militiamen in unchallenged control - and punching a
huge hole in American hopes that American-trained
Iraqis can be relied on increasingly to take over
from American troops in providing security in
Iraq's major cities.
The insurrection, which spread across the Shiite
heartland in a matter of hours, came five days
after the ambush in the predominantly Sunni Muslim
city of Falluja, outside Baghdad, in which a mob
mutilated the bodies of four American security
guards and hanged two of them from a bridge.
Together, the events in Falluja and the other
cities on Sunday appeared likely to shake the
American hold on Iraq more than anything since the
invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein's government
last April 9.
In effect, the militia attacks confronted the
American military command with what has been its
worst nightmare as it has struggled to pacify Iraq:
the spread of an insurgency that has stretched a
force of 130,000 American troops from the minority
Sunni population to the majority Shiites, who are
believed to account for about 60 percent of Iraq's
population of 25 million.
Privately, senior American officers have said for
months that American prospects here would plummet
if the insurgency spread into the Shiite
population, leaving American and allied troops with
no safe havens anywhere except possibly in the
Kurdish areas of the north.
Until now, powerful Shiite clerics with large
followings in Shiite centers like Sadr City, with
its two million people, and Najaf and Karbala,
sister holy cities about 80 miles south of Baghdad,
each with a population of more than a million, have
largely avoided pitting their private militias
against the American-led occupation forces,
preferring to challenge the Americans politically.
Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, considered Iraq's
most influential Shiite cleric, has urged followers
to protest peacefully.
But on Sunday, Mr. Sadr's veiled threats to stir
public disorder erupted into carefully orchestrated
violence, with potentially dire implications over
the long term for the Americans, and for Iraq.

For the last couple of years I have said that the
illegal invasion of Iraq would end in a humiliating
defeat for Britain and the USA. As the
occupation of Iraq turns to custard, the defeat and
surrender of the occupation army looms closer every
day.
The unnecessary invasion of Iraq, based on a series
of lies to deceive the American public, will be
recorded in history, as one of the most foolish and
stupid undertakings of any nation. The
tragedy is that so many lives have been lost in
this reckless adventure by the Bush administration.

7 U.S. Soldiers Die in Iraq as a Shiite Militia
Rises Up

AGHDAD, Iraq, April 4 - A coordinated Shiite
militia uprising against the American-led
occupation rippled across Iraq on Sunday, reaching
into Baghdad and the sprawling Shiite slum of Sadr
City on the capital's outskirts and roiling the
holy city of Najaf and at least two other cities in
southern Iraq.
Seven American soldiers were killed in Sadr City,
one of the worst single losses for the American
forces in any firefight since Baghdad was captured
a year ago.
An Iraqi health official in Najaf said 24 people
had been killed and about 200 wounded in clashes
that ensued when armed militiamen loyal to Moktada
al-Sadr, a 31-year-old firebrand Shiite cleric,
besieged a garrison commanded by Spanish troops on
the road leading into Najaf from neighboring Kufa.
An American military spokesman said one Salvadoran
soldier had been killed in Kufa and 13 soldiers
wounded, including an American. All the other
casualties were said to be Iraqis.
Within hours of a call by Mr. Sadr to his followers
to "terrorize your enemy," his
militiamen, said to number tens of thousands across
Iraq, emerged into the streets of Baghdad, Najaf,
Kufa and Amara, a city 250 miles south of Baghdad
where four Iraqis were reported killed in clashes
with British troops.
Forbidden to bear arms under a decree issued last
year by the American occupation authority, the Sadr
militiamen bristled with a wide array of weapons,
including rocket-propelled grenades that were fired
at American tanks in Sadr City.
Taking advantage of an American policy that has
largely kept American and other occupation troops
out of volatile Shiite population centers like Sadr
City, Najaf and Kufa, the militiamen succeeded in
taking control of checkpoints and police stations
in all three cities that had been staffed by the
new Iraqi-trained police and civil defense force.
